Airmanship Award
The SSB Airmanship Award is given to those members who display outstanding airmanship while piloting sailplanes as SSB members. This award is not given on a set schedule, but only when such a demonstration of airmanship and judgment is accomplished. Examples of situations worthy of this award would be the skillful handling of a soaring emergency, dealing with a damaged glider, or an encounter with unusual and unforeseen weather conditions.
